Minor Emergency Medical Clinic definition

Minor Emergency Medical Clinic means a freestanding facility which is engaged primarily in providing minor emergency and episodic medical care to a covered person. A board-certified physician, a registered nurse (R.N.) and a registered x-ray technician must be in attendance at all times that the clinic is open. The clinic's facilities must include x-ray and laboratory equipment and a life support system. For the purposes of the Plan, a clinic meeting these requirements will be considered to be a minor emergency medical clinic, by whatever actual name it may be called. However, a clinic located on or in conjunction with or in any way made a part of a regular hospital shall be excluded from the terms of this definition.
Minor Emergency Medical Clinic means a freestanding facility, regardless of its name, including an Ambulatory Surgical Center, that is engaged primarily in providing minor Emergency and episodic medical care to a Covered Person. A Physician, Registered Nurse and registered X-ray technician must be in attendance at all times that the clinic is open. The clinic’s facilities must include X-ray and laboratory equipment, and a life support system.
Minor Emergency Medical Clinic means a freestanding facility which is engaged primarily in providing minor emergency and episodic medical care to a Participant. A board-certified physician, a registered nurse, and a registered X-ray technician must be in attendance at all times that the clinic is open. The clinic’s facilities must include X-ray and laboratory equipment and a life support system. For the purposes of the Plan, a clinic otherwise meeting these requirements but is, in any way, part of a regular Hospital, shall be excluded from the terms of this definition.

  • psychiatric emergency medical condition means a Mental Disorder that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity that it renders the patient as being either of the following:

  • Emergency medical care provider means an individual who has been trained to provide emergency and nonemergency medical care at the first responder, EMT-basic, EMT-intermediate, EMT-paramedic, paramedic specialist or other certification levels recognized by the department before 1984 and who has been issued a certificate by the department.

  • Emergency medical care means such medical procedures as:

  • Advanced emergency medical technician or “AEMT” means an individual who has successfully completed a course of study based on the United States Department of Transportation’s Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Instructional Guidelines (January 2009), has passed the psychomotor and cognitive examinations for the AEMT, and is currently certified by the department as an AEMT.

  • Medical emergency means a condition caused by an Injury or Sickness that manifests itself by symptoms of sufficient severity that a prudent layperson possessing an average knowledge of health and medicine would reasonably expect that failure to receive immediate medical attention would place the health of the person in serious jeopardy.

  • COVID-19 emergency means the emergencies declared in the Declaration of Public Emergency (Mayor's Order 2020-045) together with the Declaration of Public Health Emergency (Mayor's Order 2020-046), declared on March 11, 2020, including any extension of those declared emergencies.

  • Emergency medical service means [initial emergency medical

  • Public health emergency means an emergency with respect to COVID–19 declared by a Federal, State, or local authority.
