Minimal Training means practical training and orientation provided by the Employer with the intent to enable Employees to perform effectively the duties of the position, the duration of which shall be up to five (5) Working Days in keeping with the level of the position. Prior to implementation of the provisions of this Article, the Employer will meet with the Union and will inform the Union of the Employer’s intentions including identification of the affected and the reasons for the redundancy. At this meeting the parties may discuss and agree to alternative arrangements that meet operational needs and eliminate the need for, or limit the impact of layoffs.
