For purposes of this Chapter 118, the following words, terms and phrases shall be defined as follows: Act shall mean the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act, being Initiated Law 1 of 2018, MCL 333.27951 et seq, as amended, and its corresponding emergency and/or administrative rules.Chief Inspector shall mean the Chief Inspector of the City of Saginaw or their designee.
The purpose of this Ordinance is to establish standards and procedures for the issuance, regulation, renewal, suspension, and revocation of business licenses for adult- use marihuana establishments in accordance with the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act, Initiated Law 1 of 2018, MCL 333.27951 et seq.
The purpose of this chapter is to license and regulate recreational or adult use marihuana establishments to the extent they are licensed under the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act, being Initiated Law 1 of 2018, MCL 333.27951 et seq, as amended.
In conformance with the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (the “MRTMA”), being Initiated Law 1 of 2018, MCL 333.27951 et seq, consuming marihuana, in any manner or form including smoking, in a public place in the boundaries of the City, or smoking marihuana in a private place where prohibited by the person who owns, occupies, or manages the property, is prohibited.
