Clinical peer means a physician or other health care professional who holds a non-restricted license in a state of the United States and in the same or similar specialty as typically manages the medical condition, procedure or treatment under review.

Primary care physician or “PCP” means a Plan Provider who has an independent contractor agreement with HPN to assume responsibility for arranging and coordinating the delivery of Covered Services to Members. Supervisory Review means ongoing clinical case reviews in accordance with procedures developed by ADMINISTRATOR, to determine the appropriateness of Diagnosis and treatment and to monitor compliance to the minimum ADMINISTRATOR and Medi-Cal charting standards. Supervisory review is conducted by the program/clinic director or designee.
