Mechanical Cleaning or Mechanically Cleaned definition

Mechanical Cleaning or Mechanically Cleaned means the cleaning of product contact surfaces by impingement, circulation, or flowing cleaning solutions and water rinses onto and over the surfaces to be cleaned by mechanical means in equipment specifically designed for this purpose. Note: The terminology "CIP" or "Cleaned in Place" is reserved for the cleaning of welded pipeline systems and silo tanks only.

  • explosive actuated fastening device means a tool that is activated by an explosive charge and that is used for driving bolts, nails and similar objects for the purpose of providing fixing;

  • Underground area means an underground room, such as a basement, cellar, shaft or vault, providing enough space for physical inspection of the exterior of the tank situated on or above the surface of the floor.

  • Dry cleaning means any industrial or commercial activity using VOCs in an installation to clean garments, furnishings and similar consumer goods with the exception of the manual removal of stains and spots in the textile and clothing industry;

  • Easily cleanable means that surfaces are readily accessible and made of such materials and finish and so fabricated that residue may be effectively removed by normal cleaning methods.

  • Cleaning means the act of removing septage or other wastes from a wastewater treatment system component or grease/waste from a grease interceptor.

  • Disinfectant means any oxidant, including but not limited to chlorine, chlorine dioxide, chloramines, and ozone added to water in any part of the treatment or distribution process, that is intended to kill or inactivate pathogenic microorganisms.

  • Cleaner means a product designed and labeled primarily to remove soil or other contaminants from surfaces.

  • Hazardous substance UST system means an UST system that contains a hazardous substance defined in section 101(14) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (but not including any substance regulated as a hazardous waste under subtitle C) or any mixture of such substances and petroleum, and which is not a petroleum UST system.
