Knysna National Lake Area. The area, approximately 15 000 hectares in size, originally proclaimed a lake area in terms of the Lake Areas Development Act No. 39 of 1975, classified and identified as a protected environment under the management of SANParks with effect from 1 November 2005, and proclaimed as part of the GRNP on 6 March 2009, in terms of the provisions of the Act;
