Internet Telephony definition

Internet Telephony. Internet Telephony mean a service to process and carry voice signals offered through Public Internet by the use of Personal Computers (PC) or IP based Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) connecting the following : PC to PC; within or outside India PC / a device / Adapter conforming to standard of any international agencies like- ITU or IETF etc. in India to PSTN/PLMN abroad. Any device / Adapter conforming to standards of International agencies like ITU, IETF etc. connected to ISP node with static IP address to similar device / Adapter; within or outside India.
Internet Telephony means voice service provided or initiated over one or more data networks where the end user initiates a voice call to, or receives a voice call from, another party over one or more data networks using a modem or CODEC or over a data network interfacing with the public switched telephone network using a modem or CODEC.
Internet Telephony means the transport of voice and data using Internet Protocol technology carried on any private telecommunications network, any public switched telecommunications network or a combination of both.”
