Injectivity test definition

Injectivity test means a well test in which CO2 is pumped into the well and the pressure response in the well is recorded. Injectivity testing is used to determine the transmissivity of the formation, the skin factor, and to identify faults and fractures near the wellbore. Several variations on injectivity testing may be performed. A multi-rate injection test uses two or more injection rates to produce more data for a more complete analysis. Each injection rate is held long enough to obtain radial flow. In interference tests, fluid is injected into one well and the pressure is measured at another well. The interference test can yield information on the porosity and compressibility of the formation between the two wells.
