In tolerance definition

In tolerance means that the gas pump is delivering fuel within a range that has been established as being ac- ceptably accurate. For gas pumps, this range is one-half of one percent (0.5%). On a 20-gallon fill, the estab- lished tolerance for a gas pump would allow the pump to deliver 20 gallons, plus or minus 1 and 2/3 cup.
