Hearing on the merits definition

Hearing on the merits means a hearing, as provided in Article VI, Section 32 of the Constitution, held to determine if there are grounds for discipline, removal, or retirement of a judge and, if so, to make recommendations to the Supreme Court.
Hearing on the merits means a hearing to be held by the Board in accordance with Section 11.09 after a determination of Just Cause by the Board.
Hearing on the merits means the trial held pursuant to G.L. c. 119, § 26, where the court determines whether the Department of Children and Families (the Department) has met its burden in proving that the child is in need of care and protection.
