Health Information Custodian definition

Health Information Custodian means a person or organization (described in PHIPA) who has custody or control of Personal Health Information as a result of or in connection with performing the person’s or organization’s powers or duties or the work.
Health Information Custodian or “HIC” means a health information custodian as that term is defined in PHIPA.
Health Information Custodian means a person or organization that performs health care in accordance with Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2014, sub-section 3(1).

  • Health Information Custodian (HIC): a person or organization described in section 3 of the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA), who has custody or control of personal health information as a result of their work, duties or powers.
