The Head of Paid Service shall report to full Council, where he/she considers it appropriate to do so on:• the manner in which the discharge of the Council’s functions is to be co-ordinate• the number and grade of officers required for the discharge of functions; and• the organisation of officers.Some statutory functions may be carried out by the same employee.
The Statutory Officers are the Head of Paid Service (Chief Executive), the Finance Officer (Section 151 Officer) and the Monitoring Officer.
Expressions of interest have been sought for the functions of Head of Paid Service (Appendix 1) from Executive Directors and for the functions of Greater London Returning Officer (Appendix 2) from the wider senior management team.

The Council’s Legal Services Manager is authorised to institute, defend or participate in any legal proceedings in any case where such action is necessary to give effect to decisions of the Council or in any case where the Head of Paid Service considers that such action is necessary to protect the Council’s interests.
