HazardousMaterials definition

HazardousMaterials means any pollutant, chemical, substance and any toxic, infectious, carcinogenic, reactive, corrosive, ignitable or flammable chemical, or chemical compound, or hazardous substance, material or waste, whether solid, liquid or gas, that is subject to regulation, control or remediation under any Environmental Law Requirement, including without limitation, crude oil or any fraction thereof, and petroleum products or by-products.
HazardousMaterials means: Any "hazardous waste" as defined by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.) as amended from time to time and regulations promulgated thereunder ("RCRA"); As Lessee - 2809 Mission 0040 Any "hazardous substance" as defined by the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (42 U.S.C. 91 et seq.) as amended from time to time, and regulations promulgated thereunder 42 U.S.C. Section 9601 et seq; and/or Asbestos, polychlorinated bithenyls or other substances specificallyregulated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (15 U.S.C. 2601, et seq.), as amended from time to time, and regulations promulgated thereunder and/or Storage tanks, whether or not underground and whether empty, filled, or partially filled with any substance; and/or The presence of oil, petroleum products, and their by-products; and/or Any substance the presence of which on the property described as Exhibit A is prohibited by any governmental authority; and/or Any other substance which, by any governmental authority, requires special handling or notification of any governmental authority in its collection, storage, treatment, or disposal; and/or Any "hazardous material", "hazardous substance" or "hazardous waste" as defined in California Health and Safety Code Sections 25501 and 25501.1.

HazardousMaterials means any hazardous, toxic or dangerous substance, materials and wastes, including, without limitation, hydrocarbons (including naturally occurring or man-made petroleum and hydrocarbons), flammable explosives, asbestos, urea formaldehyde insulation, radioactive materials, biological substances, polychlorinated biphenyls, pesticides, herbicides and any other kind and/or type of pollutants or contaminants (including, without limitation, materials which include hazardous constituents), sewage, sludge, industrial slag, solvents and/or any other similar substances, materials or wastes that are or become regulated under any Environmental Law (including, without limitation, any that are or become classified as hazardous or toxic under any Environmental Law).
HazardousMaterials means (a) any petroleum or petroleum products, radioac materials, asbestos in any form that is or could become friable, urea formaldehyde foam insulation, and transformers or other equipment that contain dielectric fluid. containing polychloiinated biphenyls; and (b) any chemicals, materials or substances which are now defined as or, included in the definition of "hazardous substances," "hazardous'wastes," "hazardoLsmaterials," "extremely hazardouswastes, " "restrictedhazardouswastes," "toxic substances," "toxic pollutants," or words of similar import, under any Environmental Law; and (c)' any other chemical, material, substance or waste, exposure to which is now prohib ited, limited or regulated under any Environmental Law ina jurisdiction in which WPL or any of the WPL Subsidiaries or WPL Joint Ventures operates (for purposes of this Sec tion 4.11) or in which IES or any of the IES Subsidiaries or IES Joint Ventures operates (for purposes of Section 5.11) or in which Interstate or any of the Interstate Subsidiaries or Interstate Joint Ventures operates (for purposes of Section 6.11); and

  • Hazardous Materials does not include products or materials that are commonly used in construction or industrial practice so long as they are used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or Material Safety Data Sheets issued for the product or materials. (See Article 1.6.3 below.)

  • Hazardous Substances means any hazardous waste, hazardous substance, pollutant, contaminant, toxic substance, oil, hazardous material, chemical or other substance regulated by any Environmental Law.

  • Hazardous Substance means any substance that is: (i) listed, classified or regulated pursuant to any Environmental Law; (ii) any petroleum product or by-product, asbestos-containing material, lead-containing paint or plumbing, polychlorinated biphenyls, radioactive materials or radon; or (iii) any other substance which is the subject of regulatory action by any Governmental Entity pursuant to any Environmental Law.

  • Hazardous Material means any substance, material or waste that is classified, regulated or otherwise characterized under any Environmental Law as hazardous, toxic, a contaminant or a pollutant or by other words of similar meaning or regulatory effect, including petroleum or any fraction thereof, asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls and radioactive substances.

  • Dangerous Substances means a substance or article described in regulation 3 of the Dangerous Substances Regulations;

  • Hazardous Waste means any substance or material regulated or designated as such pursuant to any Environmental Law, including without limitation, pollutants, contaminants, flammable substances and materials, explosives, radioactive materials, oil, petroleum and petroleum products, chemical liquids and solids, polychlorinated biphenyls, asbestos, toxic substances, and similar substances and materials.

  • Potentially hazardous food means any food or ingredient, natural or synthetic, in a form capable of supporting the growth of infectious or toxigenic microorganisms, including Clostridium botulinum. This term includes raw or heat treated foods of animal origin, raw seed sprouts, and treated foods of plant origin. The term does not include foods which have a pH level of 4.6 or below or a water activity (Aw) value of 0.85 or less.

  • Hazardous air pollutant means any air pollutant listed as a hazardous air pollutant pursuant to Section 112(b) of the FCAA.

  • Hazardous Wastes means all waste materials subject to regulation under CERCLA, RCRA or applicable state law, and any other applicable Federal and state laws now in force or hereafter enacted relating to hazardous waste disposal.
