Greenfeed definition

Greenfeed means an Insurable Crop seeded as an Annual Crop that is, prior to grain maturity, cut, dried and stored as livestock feed.

Examples of Greenfeed in a sentence

  • Acreage intended for uninsured Silage, uninsured Greenfeed, pasture, summer grazing, or winter grazing may be excluded if requested on the Land Report on or before June 20.

  • Only Silage, Greenfeed or swath grazing acres in Alberta are insurable under this Insuring Agreement.

  • All eligible and seeded acreage of an Insurable Crop, whether the land is owned, rented or crop-shared, grown for the intent of Silage or Greenfeed must be insured up to a maximum of 110 percent of the Elected Acres.

  • If the Insured intends to combine some of the acres for grain and manage the remaining acres as Silage, Greenfeed, or swath grazing, they can insure acres of the same Insurable Crop under both Crop Insurance and Silage Greenfeed Insurance.

  • If an Insured Crop intended for Silage or Greenfeed is pastured, the insurance Coverage and Premium will remain in effect.

  • If the seeded acreage of Insurable Crop(s) grown for the intent of Silage, Greenfeed, or swath grazing is less than 90 percent of the Elected Acres, the Insured will be subject to a penalty equal to: (90% of Elected Acres – seeded acreage) x (average Premium per acre for the seeded acreage).

  • If the Insured intends to combine some of the acres as grain and harvest a portion as silage or greenfeed, they can insure acres of the same Insurable Crop under both Crop Insurance and Silage Greenfeed Insurance.

  • Silage Greenfeed Fall Market Price is the Fall Market Price for Barley (1 CW) expressed in $/kg.

  • The Insured must elect the number of acres they intend to insure as Silage, Greenfeed, or swath grazing by April 30 and will be billed within plus or minus 10 percent of the Elected Acres whether the acres are seeded or not.
