Geodatabase definition

Geodatabase has the meaning ascribed thereto in Section 1.1.

Geodatabase means a database or file structure used primarily to store, query, and manipulate spatial data. Geodatabases store geometry, a spatial reference system, attributes, and behavioral rules for data. The geodatabase is the standard data management and storage framework of ArcGIS. Both file and personal geodatabases will be accepted.

Examples of Geodatabase in a sentence

  • All GIS applications and users will access the data from a centralized Enterprise Geodatabase which will be primarily based on Oracle and SQL Server databases.

  • At a minimum, you will be required to provide an accurate street centerline layer and the appropriate polygon layers needed for Unit Recommendations and Run Cards in an industry standard ESRI file format (Personal Geodatabase, File Geodatabase, Shape Files).

  • The MapSAG software currently operates in the latest version of ArcGIS for Desktop 10 or 10.1 and will utilize a Personal Geodatabase, File Geodatabase or an Enterprise Geodatabase through ArcGIS Server (ArcSDE).
