FXS definition

FXS means Foreign eXchange Subscriber interface is the port that actually delivers the analog line to the subscriber that delivers dial tone, battery current and ring voltage.
FXS means Foreign eXchange Station which is the interface provided by the telephone company to its customers. This interface includes dial tone, power and ring voltage. The wall telephone jack is the FXS interface.
