Funding Authority definition

Funding Authority means the body awarding the grant for the Project.

In Horizon 2020, as per the MGA, the legal body awarding the grant for the Project can be the European Union or the European Atomic Energy Community (represented by the European Commission), or one of the agencies established for managing large parts of the framework programme the - Research Executive Agency (REA) - European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) - Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) - Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) each acting under the powers delegated by the European Commission. For the purposes of a Consortium Agreement, “Funding Authority” may also be used to refer to Joint Undertakings or similar bodies awarding the grant for the EU Project.
Funding Authority means any Local Authority, NHS body or other local or central governmental authority that has agreed to pay all or part of the fees agreed for the services to be provided under an agreement with the Funding Authority;

Examples of Funding Authority in a sentence

  • The financial contribution of the Funding Authority to the Project shall be distributed by the Coordinator according to: the Consortium Plan the approval of reports by the Funding Authority, and the provisions of payment in Section 7.3. A Party shall be funded only for its tasks carried out in accordance with the Grant Agreement.

  • Payments to the Parties from the financial contribution of the Funding Authority are the exclusive tasks of the Coordinator.

  • Any bank fees resulting from the transfer of funds to the Parties from the financial contribution of the Funding Authority shall be borne by the parties which receive these funds, and not by the coordinator.

  • In accordance with its own usual accounting and management principles and practices, each Party shall be solely responsible for justifying its costs with respect to the Project towards the Funding Authority.

  • Neither the Coordinator nor any of the other Parties shall be in any way liable or responsible for such justification of costs towards the Funding Authority.


More Definitions of Funding Authority

Funding Authority means the body awarding the grant for the Project. “Defaulting Party” Defaulting Party means a Party which the General Assembly has identified to be in breach of this Consortium Agreement and/or the Grant Agreement as specified in Section 4.2 of this Consortium Agreement.
