Flex Schedule definition

Flex Schedule means a work schedule that consists of varying hours during a work week. A flex schedule must be approved by an Appointing Authority.
Flex Schedule means scheduling starting times and ending times to accommodate the specialty jobs listed in Article 26 Section 26.1. A workday will still consist of 8 or 10 consecutive hours, depending on the schedule the employee is working. Employees will not be required to split shifts.
Flex Schedule means an alternate, 40-hour schedule other than the normal 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday schedule.

Examples of Flex Schedule in a sentence

  • As an alternative to the normal schedule described in the above section, employees may be granted the option to participate in a Flex Schedule under the following terms and conditions: The Department Director, with the approval of the Town Manager, has the exclusive authority to approve an employee’s request for a flex schedule.

  • Participation in the Flex Schedule affects the schedules of others; therefore, once established, changes in flex scheduling can only be changed if approved by the Department Head and General Manager.

  • During a two week cycle, an employee working the 9/80 Flex Schedule will work nine hours per day Monday through Thursday and eight hours on Friday the first week.

  • For FLSA forty hour per week determination, the 9/80 Flex Schedule workweek begins four hours into the employee’s eight hour shift.

  • The Flex Schedule will not impact the accrual of vacation, Sick Leave or other benefits.

  • Except in cases of emergency, the Department Head must provide at least 30 days’ notice to terminate an employee’s Flex Schedule.

  • The Flex Schedule is voluntary, and subject to agreement by the employee and approval by the Department Head.
