Firefighter III definition

Firefighter III. - means an employee who has completed TWELVE (12) months as full-time Firefighter.

  • A Firefighter III is eligible for “working out of class” compensation for all hours worked as a primary apparatus unit officer on an emergency call.

  • While candidates may test and be placed upon a final promotional eligibility list without the following prerequisites, a candidate for promotion to the position of Fire Captain must, as of the time that a vacancy occurs have served as a full-time paid firefighter for a period of three (3) years and attained certification as Firefighter III.

  • III - All employees that acquire or have acquired the certification of Firefighter III will receive an incentive payment of 3.0% of his base salary.

  • Upon completion of 15 years and until the completion of 20 years of aggregate service, an employee shall receive additional premium pay of 5.5% of the salary of a Firefighter III at Step 6.

  • Any Firefighter III (2112-3) shall be eligible for longevity pay based upon the aggregate number of years of service as a sworn employee of the Department.

  • The Town shall reimburse the employee for any related costs for obtaining EMT, Firefighter I/II or Hazmat OLR courses.
