Field of Play definition

Field of Play means the area used for a sporting competition or ceremony plus the immediate surrounding areas, usually separated from the spectators by a clear boundary. The design and specifications of each differ from one sport to another. Also referred to as the slope, rink, sheet, track, court, field, piste, ring, etc.
Field of Play means the field of play and any perimeter area between the line markings of the pitch and the spectator area except in the case of futsal, where it means the court of play;
Field of Play means, collectively as such term may be amended pursuant to the MLS Rules from time to time, (i) the entire Playing Field in the Stadium up to and including the field board signage; (ii) all equipment on the Playing Field, including, without limitation, goals, benches, bench xxxxxxx, corner flags, and hydration equipment; and (iii) the open areas, concert stages, temporary or permanent hospitality areas, plaza areas, stadium retaining/concourse walls, railings, seating bowl, and any other areas extending thirty (30) feet up and out from the field boards when set in the standard MLS field board position (provided that if any portion of the field retaining wall is further than thirty (30) feet from the standard MLS field board position, then such area shall include from the field boards up to and including the field retaining wall and further provided that the standard MLS field board position shall be no less than six (6) feet and preferably eight (8) feet from the touchlines and endlines).

Examples of Field of Play in a sentence

  • If blood staining to the Field of Play occurs cleaning must immediately take place using a Non- Acid Disinfectant Surface Cleaner which is effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria or, if such a material is not available, an 80% alcohol solution.

  • No liquid or other refreshment may be consumed on the Field of Play.

  • Team officials and players may leave the technical facility area surrounding the Field of Play during half time.

  • Any player listed on the Team Entry form may be the subject of an anti-doping test after a match even if that player has not entered the Field of Play.

  • The Coach on the team bench may not enter the Field of Play during playing time under any circumstances but may do so during a shoot-out competition.

Field of Play means the area within the Venue on which the Session is taking place, together with any adjacent areas required for the purposes of the Session;
