Extra Unit definition

Extra Unit. The term “Extra Unit” means excess material which does not fit in the Customer’s primary Container. In the case of Garbage Containers under one cubic yard in capacity, an Extra Unit is 32-gallons, and may be contained in either a plastic bag or Garbage Can. In the case of Containers one cubic yard or more in capacity, and Extra Unit is one cubic yard. In the case of Residential Compostables collection, an Extra Unit shall be 32-gallons.
Extra Unit means additional water service on the same lot, provided the structure served is not a single housekeeping unit, with cooking, living, sanitary and sleeping facilities as defined in paragraph D above.
Extra Unit means excess material that does not fit in the customer's primary receptacle with the lid fully closed, whether Cart or Container. For Cart services, an Extra Unit is measured in 32-gallon increments, and for Container services, an Extra Unit is measured in increments of one (1) cubic yard. Accepted receptacles for Extra Units are (a) for garbage, closed plastic bags; (b) for Yard Debris, kraft paper bags; and

Examples of Extra Unit in a sentence

  • An Extra Unit is equal to thirty-two (32) gallon equivalent for Carts and one half (1/2) yard equivalent for Detachable Containers.

  • The Contractor may charge for an overweight Container at the Extra Unit rate, provided that the Container weight is documented in writing, and the Customer agrees to pay for special handling.

  • An Extra Unit charge may be assessed for materials loaded so as to lift a Cart lid in excess of six (6) inches from the normally closed position.

  • In the case of Garbage Containers one (1) cubic yard or more in capacity, an Extra Unit is 96- gallons.

  • The Contractor may charge for an overweight Container at the Extra Unit rate or may leave the overweight Container at the Curb with a notification to the Customer as to why it was not collected.
