Department’s mission is to promote and protect the health, well-being, self- sufficiency, and safety of all people in Marin. The department is divided into four divisions: • Planning and Administration • Behavioral Health and Recovery Services • Public Health • Social Services These divisions serve the Marin community at fourteen locations scattered throughout the County, in a combination of county-owned and leased facilities. As the needs of the Marin community change over time, staffing throughout the county and the programs offered by H & HS change in response. These fluctuations often impact facility requirements, creating operational challenges to ensure smooth operations at all locations. The HHS workforce will become increasingly capable of telework, which offers an opportunity to shrink the overall real estate footprint of the Department. At the same time, the Department is interested in ensuring its places of service delivery are arrayed to meet the needs of the county’s most vulnerable as part of its Strategic Plan to Achieve Health and Wellness Equity.
