Excited Delirium definition

Excited Delirium shall refer to a physical condition in which, a person may exhibit extreme agitation, bizarre and/or violent behavior, imperviousness to pain, exceptional strength and endurance, inappropriate nudity, extreme paranoia, and/or incoherent shouting.

  • A person experiencing Excited Delirium is in a life threatening state and urgently requires medical attention.

  • An assessment must be conducted to determine if the patient meets Excited Delirium Syndrome.
