Drug or medicine definition

Drug or medicine means any medicine, compound, or chemical or biological preparation intended to be used for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, or prevention of diseases or abnormalities of man or woman which are recognized in the Physician's Desk Reference, 47th Edition, 1993, or otherwise established as a drug or medicine, by federal or state law. The term shall include local anesthetics as defined in subdivision (5).

Drug or medicine means any medicine, compound, or chemical or biological preparation intended for internal or external use of humans, and all substances intended to be used for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, or prevention of diseases or abnormalities of humans, which are recognized in the latest editions published of the United States Pharmacopoeia or National Formulary, or otherwise established as a drug or medicine.
