Drug or medicine definition

Drug or medicine means any medicine, compound, or chemical or biological preparation intended to be used for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, or prevention of diseases or abnormalities of man or woman which are recognized in the Physician's Desk Reference, 47th Edition, 1993, or otherwise established as a drug or medicine, by federal or state law. The term shall include local anesthetics as defined in subdivision (5).
