Drains. Means shall be provided to de- water each unit to an appropriate point in the process. Due consideration shall be given to the possible need for hydrostatic pressure relief devices to prevent flotation of structures. Pipes subject to clogging shall be provided with means for mechanical cleaning or flush- ing.

More Definitions of Drains

Drains means a fixture connected to the waste water and/or sewer drainage piping system for the purpose of removing water or sewage. It also includes drain tiles, downspouts and eavestroughs.
Drains means any drain, channel, gutter or pipes intended to collect, convey or dispose drain water, storm water, seepage water or waste liquid (not being waste liquid, discharged into water borne sanitary installation) and shall include fittings and apparatus such as lavatory basin, bath or sink, the water liquids of which are discharged into any such drain, channel or pipes together with the pipes, connection, traps, gullies all other parts thereof.
Drains means, but is not limited to, all closed, open, common/backlane, antimalarial (AM), Earth, outlet drains, culverts and cross- culverts, roadside drains, dropinlet chambers (DICs), scupper drains, centre divider drains, the Bridgedek drainage system, discharge pipes and down pipes, submerged and non-submerged drains, drains under overhead bridges/flyovers, flyover and viaduct drains, associated drains found in drainage reserves and any other structures that serve the purpose of surface drainage that comes under the Agency’s cleaning maintenance.
Drains means man-made excavations, piping, or both, that collect groundwater or surface water, and includes road ditches, county drains, and footing drains.

Drains means sumps, drains, pipes or other conveyances which comprise the facility's drainage system. In addition, Seller shall take those actions identified in the Interim Operation and Maintenance Activities Report (dated July 10, 2000), attached hereto as Exhibit B (the "Report"), as such actions may be amended by EPA or the Puyallup Tribe, with respect to NPDES compliance through Closing. Purchaser shall accept or reject the Work within seventy-two (72) hours after Seller notifies Purchaser that it has completed the Work. If Purchaser does not accept the Work, then Purchaser shall deliver to Seller within such seventy-two (72) hour period a detailed punch list which describes the manner in which the Work departs from the Work Plan or the Report, as the case may be, and identifies those actions necessary to cause the Work to be acceptable. Any dispute between Seller and Purchaser regarding whether the Work complies with the Work Plan or the Report shall be resolved by binding arbitration conducted in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association. This Second Addendum does not limit any actions Seller may choose or be required to take to satisfy EPA or the Puyallup Tribe with respect to NPDES compliance. In the event Seller cannot complete the Work required in paragraph 1 before Closing, then Purchaser shall grant Seller reasonable access to the facility after Closing and shall reasonably cooperate with Seller to complete the Work. Seller shall use reasonable and diligent efforts to complete the Work required by paragraph 1 no later than sixty (60) days after Closing. All "dangerous wastes" (as defined in WAC 173-303) at the facility, as of the date of Closing, which are shipped off-site after Closing by Seller shall be manifested using Seller's generator identification number.
Drains means a system or a line of pipes, with their fittings and accessories such as manholes, inspection chambers, traps, gullies, floor traps used for drainage of building or yards appurtenant to the buildings within the same cartilage. A drain includes open channel for conveying surface water or a system for the removal of any liquid.
