Draft Hood definition

Draft Hood means a component of gas-fired water heaters which mixes secondary air with the combustion gases leaving the unit thus enabling a smooth, continuous relief of gases up the vent pipe.
Draft Hood means a device built into a gas appliance or made part of the flue or vent connector from a gas appliance which is designed for the following purposes:
Draft Hood means a device placed in and made a part of the flue pipe from an appliance, or a part of an appliance itself, which is to be designed to assure the ready escape of all the products of combustion in the event of no draft, backdraft and stoppage beyond the draft hood, or prevent a backdraft from entering the appliance, and neutralize the effects of stack action of the chimney flue upon the operation of the appliance.
