Divisional Seniority definition

Divisional Seniority means the length of continuous service, within a particular division of the Windsor Fire Department, the said divisions being defined as follows: Fire and Rescue Services Fire Prevention Services Emergency Apparatus and Equipment Services Administrative Services Emergency Communications Services Training Services. For divisional operations, the staff in Administrative Services shall be under the direct supervisory authority of the person who is in charge of the division to which they are assigned. For purposes of vacation selection, leaves of absence and Corporate administrative policies and procedures, for the staff in Administrative Services, the Director of Administrative Services shall be responsible for ensuring the application of Department and/or Corporate policies.

Examples of Divisional Seniority in a sentence

  • Commencing November 15th and ending December 1st, the EMPLOYER shall call upon employees in order of their Divisional Seniority to make their first selection.

  • However, if an employee has been employed in the division for more than one (1) year, the employee's Divisional Seniority shall equal the employee's total, continuous, full-time service with the City.

  • If an employee is permanently transferred to another division, the employee's accrued Divisional Seniority in the previous division will remain in effect, but will cease to accumulate effective on the date of the transfer.

  • Thereafter, all Divisional Seniority in the former division shall be lost and the employee shall accumulate Divisional Seniority from the date of entry into the division.

  • If an employee with Divisional Seniority is permanently assigned to another division, he or she shall continue to accumulate seniority in his or her former division until he or she satisfactorily completes the probationary period for the classification in the other division.

  • Divisional Seniority shall equal an employee's seniority since his or her last date of entry into a Division as a full-time employee.

  • An employee affected by Article 18, "Layoff/Recall", shall have Divisional Seniority as described in such Article.

  • Divisional Seniority is the amount of continuous service time within a job title currently assigned to a major subdivision of a department.

  • Divisional Seniority shall only be used to assist in the assignment process identified in Article 9, Section 9.02.

  • Classification Seniority is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.

  • Bargaining Unit Seniority is defined as the length of continuous service within the bargaining unit since the last date of entry into the bargaining unit.

  • Uniform business entity application means the current version of the NAIC Uniform Business Entity Application for resident and nonresident business entities.

  • Educational setting means the building(s) and grounds of the School District; the vehicles provided by the School District for the transportation of students to and from school buildings, field trips, co-curricular and extracurricular activities both on and off School District grounds; all co- curricular and extracurricular activity sites; and any other location where direct contact between an employee or volunteer and a child has allegedly occurred.
