Disputant definition

Disputant means a person against whom a bylaw notice has been issued, and who has filed a notice of dispute or otherwise requested an adjudication of that bylaw notice.
Disputant in Section 8 of this Bylaw means the person against whom a contravention is alleged; and
Disputant means the complainant or the licensee.

Examples of Disputant in a sentence

  • A mediator may not make a decision that is binding on a Disputant unless that Disputant has so agreed in writing.

  • In the event the entire dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) calendar days from the date written notice requesting mediation is sent by one Disputant to the other(s), the mediation, unless otherwise agreed, shall terminate.

  • A Party claiming that a Dispute has arisen must notify each other Disputant in writing giving details of the Dispute and its proposal for a resolution.

  • Each Disputant must bear its own costs of complying with this clause 16 and the Disputants must bear equally the mediator’s costs.

  • For a fourteen (14) day period after a notice is given (Resolution Period) each Disputant must use all reasonable endeavours to resolve the Dispute.


More Definitions of Disputant

Disputant means any party in the dispute who intends to settle the dispute by mediation or any party of the dispute under process of mediation. For the benefit of mediation, the disputant also includes a person act legitimately as the representative of the party.
