Detached Garage definition

Detached Garage. – means a roofed and enclosed structure which is detached from the main dwelling and designed to accommodate one or more motor vehicles.
Detached Garage means a separate building having no common wall with the main residence building. No detached garage dwelling shall be placed or built on any lot nearer than five (5) feet to any lot line.

Examples of Detached Garage in a sentence

  • For proposed Single Detached Dwellings and Duplex Side-By-Side Dwellings when a Detached Garage is not included with the Development Permit application for a Dwelling where there is no Lane access, a driveway shall be provided on each Lot prior to Occupancy, of a size appropriate for two parking stalls and be located to the side or front of the Dwelling in accordance to Section 21.1 Accessory Developments in Residential Land Uses of this Bylaw.

  • One (1) Detached Garage or One Accessory Building-Major greater than 200 square feet in floor area.

  • For proposed Single Detached Dwellings, Duplex Side-By-Side Dwellings and Townhouse Dwellings when a Detached Garage is not included with the Development Permit application for a Dwelling with Lane access, a Parking Pad shall be provided on each Lot prior to Occupancy and located so the pad will accommodate a Garage of a size appropriate for two parking stalls and shall be located according to Section 21.1 Accessory Developments in Residential Land Uses of this Bylaw.

Pole barns, hay sheds and the like qualify as accessory structures on farms, and may or may not be located on the same parcel as the farm dwelling or shop building.

  • Single-family dwelling means a private residence provided with sleeping and cooking facilities intended for domestic use and in which the occupants live as a single housekeeping unit that is not part of a Multiple Dwelling;

  • Dwelling means any building, structure, or portion thereof which is occupied as, or designed or intended for occupancy as, a residence by one or more families, and any vacant land which is offered for sale or lease for the construction or location thereon of any such building, structure, or portion thereof.

  • Lots means all or any machinery and other items sold or intended to be sold in accordance with these conditions; “Purchaser” means a person, firm or Company who purchase any Lot;

  • temporary building or structure means a Building or structure constructed or erected or placed on land for a continuous period not exceeding twelve months, or an addition or alteration to a Building or structure that has the effect of increasing the total floor area thereof for a continuous period not exceeding twelve months;

  • Garage shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Recital H;

  • Underground area means an underground room, such as a basement, cellar, shaft or vault, providing enough space for physical inspection of the exterior of the tank situated on or above the surface of the floor.

Each side of the highway is considered separately in applying this definition except that where it is not topographically feasible for a sign or sign structure to be erected or maintained on the same side of the highway as the permanent structure devoted to industrial or commercial purposes, a business area may be established on the opposite side of a primary highway in an area zoned commercial or industrial or in an unzoned area with the approval of the state highway commission. A permanent structure devoted to industrial or commercial purposes does not result in the establishment of a business area on both sides of the highway. All measurements shall be from the outer edge of the regularly used building, parking lot, or storage or processing area of the commercial or industrial activity and not from the property lines of the activities and shall be along or parallel to the edge or pavement of the highway. Commercial or industrial purposes are those activities generally restricted to commercial or industrial zones in jurisdictions that have zoning.
