Designated health services (DHS) means any of the following services (other than those provided as emer- gency physician services furnished out- side of the U.S.), as they are defined in this section:(1)(i) Clinical laboratory services.(ii) Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and outpatient speech-lan- guage pathology services.
Designated health services include the following:[9] Clinical laboratory services; Physical therapy; Occupational therapy; Radiology services; Radiation therapy services and supplies; Durable medical equipment and supplies; Parenteral and enteral nutrients, equipment, and supplies; Prosthetics, orthotics, and prosthetic devices and supplies; Home health services; Outpatient prescription drugs; Inpatient and outpatient hospital services; and Outpatient speed-language pathology services.
Designated health services under the Stark Law include home health services; but, importantly, do not currently include hospice services.
Designated health services and facilities exist for the members of the Library staff, who are encouraged to use it whenever necessary.
