COVID-19 Symptom definition

COVID-19 Symptom means a symptom consistent with SARS-CoV-2 infection. At the time this Order is issued, that list includes for individuals 18 years or older any of the following symptoms which is not explained by another condition or diagnosis: temperature greater than 100.4F (38.0C); cough; sore throat; shortness of breath; chills; headache; body aches; fatigue; loss of smell or taste; diarrhea; runny nose; nasal congestion; or other symptoms if there is associated clinical concern for COVID-19. For those younger than 18 years, “COVID-19 Symptom” means any of the following symptoms which is not explained by another condition or diagnosis: temperature greater than 100.4F (38.0C); sore throat; new uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for youth with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline); diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain; new onset of severe headache, especially with a fever; or other symptoms if there is associated clinical concern for COVID- 19.
