Controlled Waste definition

Controlled Waste means household, industrial and commercial waste or any such waste;
Controlled Waste means Waste that requires special handling and disposal techniques to avoid creating health hazards, nuisances or environmental pollution. Disposal of Controlled Waste requires pre-approval and a permit issued by the Regional District prior to Disposal. Controlled Wastes are identified in Schedule D attached.
Controlled Waste means those types of waste listed in Schedule “C” which may be disposed of if special handling and techniques are used to avoid creating health hazards, nuisances or environmental pollution, but does not include Hazardous Waste;

Examples of Controlled Waste in a sentence

  • Health (Asbestos) Regulations 1992 and the Environmental Protection (Controlled Waste) Regulations 2001.

  • Wastes and emptied containers are controlled wastes and should be disposed of in accordance with The Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations (in England, Scotland & Wales) or The Controlled Waste (Duty of Care) Regulations in Northern Ireland.

  • Any removal of asbestos is to comply with the following –Under ten (10) square metres of bonded (non-friable) asbestos can be removed without a license and in accordance with the Health (Asbestos) Regulations 1992 and the Environmental Protection (Controlled Waste) Regulations 2001.

  • Any asbestos must be handled, used, removed and disposed of in accordance with the Health (Asbestos) Regulations 1992 and the Environmental Protection (Controlled Waste) Regulations 2001.

  • Under the Controlled Waste Regulations 1992 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990 operatives/licence holders have a duty of care to ensure that all clinical waste i.e. used dressings, swabs etc (infected or not) and used needles are collected and disposed of by a licensed contractor.

Controlled Waste means such waste as defined in this bylaw.
Controlled Waste means certain waste which is approved for disposal at the disposal site but which, because of its inherent nature or quantity, requires special handling and disposal techniques to avoid creating health hazards, nuisances, or environmental pollution, and shall include those wastes outlined in the schedule attached hereto as Schedule “C”;
Controlled Waste is any household, commercial or industrial waste such as waste from a house, shop, office, factory, building site or any other business premises. For the avoidance of doubt The Council will not collect soil, bricks, rubble, MDF or MDF shavings, plasterboard, gypsum plaster or other construction wastes; tyres, waste liquids and oils; loose dusts or shavings from joinery; raw meat waste or packaging from a Butcher, Gypsum dental plaster from a dentist. This list is not exhaustive, and The Applicant must ensure that they comply with all relevant legislation when considering the “controlled waste” that they generate including the Animal By-Product Regulations and Hazardous Waste Regulations.
Controlled Waste means waste that requires special handling including:
Controlled Waste means the waste listed in Schedule “C”.
Controlled Waste means Solid Waste requiring special handling at the Solid Waste Management Facilities, and includes but is not limited to:
Controlled Waste means municipal solid waste requiring special handling at the landfill site, and includes but is not limited to waste asbestos, asbestos cement, dead animals, boats, recreational vehicles, tires filled with foam, and the following construction / demolition wastes: roofing, waste wood, asphalt, concrete, dirt and rocks, acceptable gypsum, vermiculite, vinyl floor tile, sheet vinyl flooring with paper backing, ceiling tiles, textured ceiling, stucco, and cement panels;
