Controlled Act(s) definition

Controlled Act(s) means acts specified in the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (“RHPA”) as acts which may only be performed by authorized regulated health professionals. Of the 14 controlled acts specified in the RHPA, physicians are authorized to perform 13 and may, in appropriate circumstances, delegate the performance of those acts to other individuals who may or may not be members of a regulated health profession, including a PA. Delegation can take place through either a Direct Order or a Medical Directive.

Examples of Controlled Act(s) in a sentence

  • The delegation of Controlled Acts shall be in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Medical Directives and related statutes and regulations and in accordance with guidelines established by the College of Nurses of Ontario from time to time and any employer’s policy related thereto.

  • Every such invoice shall include an itemized calculation of the compensation owing for the prior year for Requested Services and a statement of the compensation owing for the delegation of Controlled Acts.

Related to Controlled Act(s)

  • Prohibited Acts means the acts specified in Clause 33 (Prohibited Acts);
