Community Renewable Energy Generation Project definition

Community Renewable Energy Generation Project means a generating unit that (i) is powered by photovoltaic cells and panels; (ii) is interconnected at the distribution system level in Illinois of Ameren Illinois Company, Commonwealth Edison Company, MidAmerican Energy Company, Mt. Carmel Public Utility Co., or a “public utility” as defined in Section 3-105 of the Illinois Public Utilities Act, or a “municipal utility” as defined in Section 1-10 of the IPA Act, or a “rural electric cooperative” as defined in Section 3-119 of the Illinois Public Utilities Act; (iii) credits the value of electricity generated by the facility to the Subscribers of the facility; (iv) is limited in Actual Nameplate Capacity to no more than five thousand (5,000) kW; and (v) is installed by qualified persons in compliance with Section 16-128A of the Public Utilities Act and any rules and regulations adopted thereunder.

  • For avoidance of doubt, this section does not apply to a Designated System that is a Community Renewable Energy Generation Project.

Carmel Public Utility Co., or a “public utility” as defined in Section 3-105 of the Illinois Public Utilities Act, or a “municipal utility” as defined in Section 1-10 of the IPA Act, or a “rural electric cooperative” as defined in Section 3-119 of the Illinois Public Utilities Act; (iii) credits the value of electricity generated by the facility to the Subscribers of the facility; (iv) is limited in Actual Nameplate Capacity to no more than five thousand (5,000) kW2; and (v) is installed by qualified persons in compliance with Section 16-128A of 2 NTD: IPA Act Section 1-75(c)(1)(K)(iii)(3): “projects shall not be colocated with one or more other community renewable generation projects, as defined in the Agency's first revised long-term renewable resources procurement plan approved by the Commission on February 18, 2020, such that the aggregate nameplate capacity exceeds 5,000 kilowatts” the Public Utilities Act and any rules and regulations adopted thereunder.

Related to Community Renewable Energy Generation Project

  • Renewable Energy Source means an energy source that is not fossil carbon-based, non- renewable or radioactive, and may include solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, landfill gas, or wave, tidal and thermal ocean technologies, and includes a Certified Renewable Energy Source.

  • Renewable energy means the grid quality electricity generated from renewable energy sources;
