Combat Operations definition

Combat Operations means planning or conducting offensive or defensive actions taken with the intent of (i) defeating an adversary’s military or other hostile forces or (ii)
Combat Operations means planning or conducting specific offensive or defensive actions taken to (i) defeat an adversary’s military or other hostile forces or (ii) execute an attack on the United States. Combat Operations include tactical or operational actions, whether related to military, paramilitary, terrorist, intelligence, cyberwarfare or electronic warfare operations.

  • This capability contributes to the multi-dimensional precision engagement Force Application capability described in the Major Combat Operations Joint Functional Concept for multi-dimensional precision engagement, including close fire support by providing a manned platform which combines Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and engagement capabilities.
