City Deal definition

City Deal means the agreement between the Welsh Government, the UK Government and the Councils dated 15 March 2016 and appended at Schedule 7 (City Deal) to this Agreement
City Deal means the Government’s initiative to support private sector growth by granting Cities powers and freedoms
City Deal is the project created to support the delivery of skills related aspects in the Leeds City Region as part of the Government’s wider objectives set out in ‘Unlocking Growth in Cities’ and for which the aims, objectives and associated milestones and timescales are set out in Annex A to the City Deal Funding Agreement;

Examples of City Deal in a sentence

  • Over its lifetime, local partners expect the City Deal to deliver up to 25,000 new jobs and leverage an additional £4 billion of private sector investment.

  • The partnership would be responsible for setting the overarching city-region economic development strategy, as well as monitoring and making recommendations to the Cabinet with regard to City Deal implementation.

  • This will ensure the City Deal and other interventions make an impact on economic growth and increase employment.

  • Each Council shall use its reasonable endeavours to procure that their respective members and officers who are involved in the City Deal shall at all times act in the best interests of the City Deal, and act with regard to each Council's own employer and member codes of conduct, devote sufficient resources to deliver the City Deal and respond in a timely manner to all relevant requests from the other Councils.

  • In performing this role, the Accountable Body as the Legal Entity therefore has responsibility to discharge all the statutory requirements in respect of the City Deal Wider Investment Fund, and is ultimately accountable for the actions of the Regional Office.

  • The Cardiff Capital Region Programme Board (Programme Board) membership will consist of the City Deal Programme Director, CEX/Managing Director and/or nominated Director, Programme Manager, Strategic Directors, or equivalent, from each constituent authority, specialist officers, and legal and financial representatives from the Accountable Body.
