Child abuse and neglect definition

Child abuse and neglect means the injury, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, negligent treatment or maltreat- ment of a child by any person indicating that the child's health, welfare, and safety is harmed.
Child abuse and neglect or "child abuse or neglect" means those terms as defined in §49-1-201 of this code, and shall include any act with respect to a child which is a crime against the person pursuant to §61-2-1 et seq. of this code, any act which is unlawful pursuant to §61-8D-1 et seq, of this code and any offense with respect to a child which is enumerated in §15-2C-3 of this code.
Child abuse and neglect or “child abuse or neglect” means physical injury, mental or emotional injury, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, sale or attempted sale or negligent treatment or maltreatment of a child by a parent, guardian or custodian who is responsible for the child’s welfare, under circumstances which harm or threaten the health and welfare of the child.
