The possession, sale, use or consumption of ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, while on chapter premises or during a fraternity event, in any situation sponsored or endorsed by the chapter, or at any event an observer would associate with the fraternity, must be in compliance with any and all applicable laws of the state, province, county, city and institution of higher education, and must comply with either the BYOB or Third Party Vendor Guidelines.
A common source of alcohol is defined by the University as a situation that involves any type of keg or any type of situation that could be viewed as self-service (such as an open bar, a pitcher or a ‘spiked’ punch bowl) and Bring Your Own Beer/Beverage (BYOB) situations of any kind.
Bring Your Own Bottle Establishment (BYOB) means a place of assembly or any other use defined in this ordinance, other than a dwelling unit, including but not limited to restaurants, taverns, clubs and social buildings, that is not licensed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, in which no intoxicating beverages are sold, but where patrons are permitted to bring intoxicating beverages upon the premises for their own use and consumption only.
Any event where alcohol is present must follow Third-Party Vendor or BYOB guidelines as outlined in the Third-Party Vendor Checklist, BYOB Checklist and FIPG Manual.
BYOB does not release the organization from checking proper ID’s and issuing wristbands.
