BSL-3 definition

BSL-3 means biosafety laboratory 3, which is a laboratory facility capable to handle pathogens that usually cause serious human or animal disease, but do not ordinarily spread from one infected individual to another;
BSL-3 means bio-safety level 3, a designation assigned to laboratories meeting the standards set forth in the World Health Organization Laboratory Biosafety Manual (2004).
