Bio-effluents definition

Bio-effluents means a variety of pollutants produced during metabolic processes that take place within the human body1. These pollutants generally include CO2, ammonia, hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones and aldehydes and their increase in concentration is associated with a decrease in perceived indoor air quality. CO2 would normally be used as a “marker” for bio-effluents.
