Behavior Modification definition

Behavior Modification means Shaping/changing behavior by providing consequences, varying outcomes or rewards that follow the targeted behavior.
Behavior Modification means the use of empirically demonstrated behavior change techniques to increase or decrease the frequency of behaviors. There is virtually no scientific evidence of the effectiveness of physical restraint, mechanical restraint or seclusion as a behavior modification strategy. These are not strategies that change student behavior, but instead are strategies that assist in getting through a crisis situation. No physical, mechanical, or seclusion restraints are authorized for behavior modification in the HCSD.
