Authentication Mechanism definition

Authentication Mechanism means any security mechanism including but not limited to a PIN, password, user number, certificate and/or devices used to identify an Authorised Person or a Mandated Person;
Authentication Mechanism means a mechanism used to verify the identity of a system user including but not limited to user identifications and passwords, tokens, smart cards, or biometrics.
Authentication Mechanism means confidential authentication information for individ- uals and for systems (including log-on identifications, addresses, passwords and personal identification numbers) and where appropriate includes personal authentication devices (including smart cards and biometric devices), assigned to each Participant pursuant to Rule 3.1.2.

Authentication Mechanism means a password, Personal Identification Number (PIN) or other confidential and protected string of characters or code, or other electronic identification method that identifies or authenticates the access rights of a person.
