  • Additional compensatory time may be accumulated under special situations or circumstances upon the approval of the Assistant Fire Chief or his designee.

  • If no Battalion Chief elects to accept the assignment, it shall be offered to the Assistant Fire Chief and/or a qualified Fire Captain, who is eligible to be an Acting Battalion Chief.

  • The Captain or Assistant Fire Chief may specifically authorize exceptions to this restriction should the on-duty employee be required to leave work to attend to a verifiable personal emergency.

  • Pursuant to an existing agreement between the parties, the Assistant Fire Chief receives a five-point-five percent (5.5%) Specialty Pay premium.

  • If the Assistant Fire Chief and/or no qualified Fire Captains are available or agree to accept the fill-in assignment, the Fire Chief may mandate a Battalion Chief to fill the shift.

  • Shift changes shall either be instigated by the Assistant Fire Chief or by employee request.
