Assignments and Subletting. OCCUPANT shall not have the right to assign this Agreement or allow any other person or entity to use or occupy any or all of the FACILITY without the prior written consent of the DISTRICT, which consent may be granted or withheld at the DISTRICT’S sole discretion.

Assignments and Subletting. Tenant will not assign this Lease, in whole or in part, nor sublet all or any part of the Premises, nor license concessions or lease departments therein, nor shall any assignment of this Lease be effected by operation of law or in any other manner without first obtaining the written consent of Landlord. Consent by Landlord to any assignment or subletting shall not constitute a waiver of the requirement for such consent to any subsequent assignment or subletting. No consent by Landlord to any assignment or sublease by Tenant shall relieve Tenant of any obligations of Tenant under this Lease, whether arising before or after the assignment or sublease. Any assignment or sublease that is not in compliance with this Section 18 shall be void and, at the option of Landlord, shall constitute a material default by Tenant under this Lease. Acceptance of any rent by Landlord from a proposed assignee or subtenant or other transferee, shall not constitute consent by Landlord to any assignment or sublease to, or any recognition of any assignee, subtenant or transferee, or a waiver by Landlord of any failure of Tenant to comply with the requirements of this Section 18. Each assignee, subtenant, or transferee, other than Landlord, shall assume all obligations of Tenant under this Lease and shall be and remain jointly and severally liable with Tenant for payment of rent, Additional Rent and the performance of all terms, covenants, conditions and agreements herein contained on Tenant's part to be performed for the Term. No assignment shall be binding on Landlord unless Tenant or other party to an assignment shall deliver to Landlord a counterpart of the assignment and an instrument in recordable form that contains the covenant of assumptions by the transferee which is satisfactory in substance and form to Landlord and consistent with the requirements of this Lease. Tenant shall reimburse Landlord on demand for any costs that may be incurred by Landlord in connection with any proposed assignment or sublease, including, without limitation, the cost of investigating the proposed transferee and the legal costs incurred in connection with the granting of any requested consent. In the event Landlord consents to any assignment or sublease by Tenant and rents due under that assignment or sublease is greater than the one due Landlord by Tenant under this Lease then Tenant shall pay the excess to Landlord. Assignments and Subletting. Tenant and the University agree that this Agreement is solely for the Rental Property. Tenant shall not assign this Agreement or any interest in it, or sublet the Rental Property or any part thereof, or permit the use or occupancy of the Rental Property or any part thereof by anyone other than Tenant and Additional Occupants except as otherwise stated herein. Tenant shall not advertise this property for sublet in any public medium, including but not limited to print or electronic publications, advertising and/or promotional material, including material on apps, internet sites (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO, Craigslist, etc.) and broadcast outlets, now existing or later devised. Tenant may procure Additional Occupants (in accordance with section 8) using solely University-sponsored media resources (e.g., the Housing Services website, UCSF listservs, Synapse campus news, etc.).

Tenant immediately and irrevocably assigns to Landlord, as security for Tenant's obligations under this Lease, all rent from any subletting of all or a part of the Premises as permitted by this Lease, and Landlord, as assignee and as attorney-in-fact for Tenant, or a receiver for Tenant appointed on Landlord's application, may collect such rent and apply it toward Tenant's obligations under this Lease; except that, until the occurrence of an act of default by Tenant, Tenant shall have the right to collect such rent.

Assignments and Subletting. Tenants shall not sublet the entire premises or any part of the premises, nor shall they assign this Agreement to anyone else without first obtaining Owner’s written permission. Approval for long-term visitors to stay in the house should be obtained from the Owner and the number of tenants who will be staying in the house should be discussed and agreed upon beforehand. Nurses or maids required to care for the Tenants during an illness are an exception from this provision.
