approved and continuous service definition

approved and continuous service in relation to any Grade means the period of continuous service in the Grade rendered after regular selection for long term appointment to the Grade, and includes any period or periods during which a member of the Service would (after such selection) have held a duty post in the Grade but for his being on leave or otherwise not available to hold such duty posts;
