AFL Season definition

AFL Season means the period from the xxxx of the first game of the AFL Competition which for the purposes of this Schedule shall include the Ansett Australia Cup Pre-Season Competition to the date of the Grand Final of the Coca- Cola Finals Series or the date of any subsequent AFL approved Game.
AFL Season means the competitive season of Australian Rules Football conducted by the AFL in each calendar year.

Examples of AFL Season in a sentence

  • The Coleman Medal shall be awarded each AFL Season to the Player that kicks the highest number of goals during the Home and Away Matches in that AFL Season as determined by the AFL Official Statistician.

  • An Eligible Player may only be nominated as a weekly AFL Rising Star once in any one AFL Season.

  • The AFL Rising Star Nomination Panel shall take into account each Eligible Players performance in the round of Home and Away Matches just completed together with the performances of Eligible Players in previous Home and Away Matches in that season when deciding who is the best performed Eligible Player to that stage of the AFL Season.

  • Any Player who played a Home and Away Match during the AFL Season is eligible for selection to the All Australian team regardless of whether the Player has been found guilty of a Reportable Offence during the AFL Season.

  • This will allow for the best available science and data to be considered prior to setting quotas limits, which have a goal of ensuring a viable summer flounder stock while providing equitable harvest limits for the recreational and commercial fishing industries.

  • A prize money pool of $1.1 million (excluding GST) will be distributed by the AFL to the AFL Clubs, which finish in the top 4 in an AFL Season, to be redistributed to Players on the List of that Club in the relevant year on an equitable basis in accordance with guidelines agreed to between the AFL and AFLPA.

Related to AFL Season

  • Peak Season means the weeks containing the 24th through 36th Wednesdays of the calendar year. Each such week shall begin on a Monday and end on the following Sunday, except for the week containing the 36th Wednesday, which shall end on the following Friday.

  • Summer Season in any year, means the Season commencing on 01 April in that year;
