  • The solutions identified to address these constraints included: ✓ HFA completed laboratory equipment installation and provided the basic supplies to initiate VL activities in the remaining four HFs (Viana, Kilamba Kiaxi, ▇▇▇▇▇▇, and Dispensario); ✓ HFA, together with LBM (INLS) and AFENET, conducted a training on VL in Viana.

  • In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the AFENET Agreement and the provisions of this Agreement, the provisions of this Agreement shall prevail.

  • Per request of CDC, HFA also provided financial support to 3 medical students traveling to these provinces to supervise laboratory fieldwork, while their respective funding arrived to their school own from AFENET (African Field Epidemiology Network), the funding source.

  • In addition to strengthening capacity in field epidemiology and laboratory training and practice, one of the objectives of AFENET is to promote and support applied public health research activities of field-based training programs in response to public health problems in Africa.

  • AFENET will solicit and collect proposals from trainees in the four FETPs. USAID, CDC, and AFENET will review proposals and make the final selection of grantees.

  • Other stakeholders include the Cabinet of Provincial Health of Luanda (GPSL), the National Program of TB Control (PNCT), the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) and the Procurement Supply Management (PSM).
