Adaptable Housing Unit definition
Adaptable Housing Unit means a Non-Market Unit that: (a) is designed and built with features that permit easy modification to accommodate changing accessibility requirements over time; and (b) conforms to the requirements and standards specified in the Zoning Bylaw and elsewhere in the British Columbia Building Code for adaptable dwelling units;
Adaptable Housing Unit means and refers to a dwelling unit that is on an Accessible Route, is tenanted in accordance with 24 C.F.R. § 8.27, and is otherwise in compliance with the Accessibility Standards for purposes of Section 504 and the ADA, except that certain required dwelling unit accessibility features, such as kitchen counters, sinks, and grab bars, will be installed, added to, raised, lowered, or otherwise altered upon request to accommodate the needs of Persons With Disabilities or to accommodate the needs of persons with different types or degrees of disability promptly and effectively without cost to the Person with A Disability.
