Academic Chair or “Special Professorship” means a prestigious appointment normally granted to a probationary or tenured faculty member. This appointment may be funded either wholly or in part from external sources or from internal sources such as endowment funds.

Academic Chair means a Faculty member who is responsible for day-to-day operations of one or more program areas, aligned with the overall vision, strategy, parameters, and program resource allocations set by the Xxxx. Academic Chairs are responsible for dealing with student issues within the program area(s) they oversee.
