A probationer definition

A probationer means a person who is provisionally employed to fill a vacancy in a permanent post for a period not exceeding 6 months and who has not completed his probationary period provided that the period or probation may be extended by the Management beyond the original period by not more than 3 months, for reasons to be recorded in writing. If a permanent workman is employed as a probationer in a new post, he may at any time during the probationary period not exceeding 6 months, be reverted to his old permanent post unless the probationery period is extended by another 3 months for reasons to be recorded in writing.

Examples of A probationer in a sentence

  • A probationer shall not be disciplined or dismissed prior to the written terms of their appointment except for sufficient cause.
